The Daily Grind
I am back into the groove of training and the necessary preparations I have to perform in order to get my college affairs into order. School starts a week from tomorrow (Sept. 1) and I am so ready to get back.
This blog is a little mix of my projects, art realizations, found aesthetics, and the pursuit to understand the subtleties all around me.

It's been a dismal time. I try, however, to stay optimistic. Changes are abound, both personal and not so much. It's a blur, which has been a dominant feeling that has always reared its way into my life.

This is my last week of summer. Saturday begins a routine that is three years in the making: my preparation for the next year of college.
It's sad to look back and see how far I have come, but I am reluctant to dwell on that notion due to the pride of my own changes. I hope my progression stays steadfast, and the rhythm and beat keep up with me.

It's a call from a yesteryear that is so far gone.
It's a lie from a dream that has far past.
It's a damned quixotic necessity deemed doomed.

For we are the fleeting eccentricities of the world.
We are the far and the few,
And the dream was never ours to be taken.
We are the fools of the Earth,
Wrought in pleasure and the forgoing travels
Of a Man far gone.

Every man dies, but not every man really lives. It's a paradox when one thinks about it, for we are given time to spend in a manner we find appropriate/necessary.

There's been a peculiar air about my past week.

When browsing websites in Firefox, one begins to notice there is a distinct "thinness" to the fonts displayed on web pages. I am unsure as to why this is, and today at work I was fidgeting on my Windows machine, and found a quick fix for this.
In order for the font smoothing to be instated, you must apply this technique to all windows, even applications outside of firefox. The result is a smoother and more anti-aliased font display.
This creates a smoother display environment for Firefox/all of the Windows Environment.

I have been seeing more and more people claim to be "photographers." I don't quite understand how one can simply proclaim to be something without the ramifications being defined. For example, I always believed that photography is an art, one that not every person can truly have. However, the digital camera has created a new trend of myspace teens who believe taking pictures of trees and sunsets somehow places them in the same category as time and tested artists with a solid education and/or aesthetic understanding background.
Dictionary.com find's photography to be:
the process or art of producing images of objects on sensitized surfaces by the chemical action of light or of other forms of radiant energy, as x-rays, gamma rays, or cosmic rays.
This only makes things a little more solidified in regards to my beliefs of modern photography. No longer is photography limited to the "art" of producing images, rather now the "process." According to this definition, all myspace members who have pictures up on their profile page can claim photographer status.

One of the scariest things is seeing a flamer like Scott with a few shots of rum inside of him and holding a medieval replica dagger.

scary.

I got back from my grandparent's house. It was interesting.

My grandma found a 25 year old Canon 35mm camera my grandpa bought in Germany. She gave it to me for my photography class this year. I took a whole roll of black and white film to test out the quality and the lenses that were with it. I should be getting my prints later today. I hope they are decent.
